Police in Iowa are on the hunt Monday for an armed suspect who they are saying fled on foot after capturing a sheriff’s deputy a number of instances, leaving him with “critical accidents.” 

“Because the deputy entered the shop he was met by an armed suspect,” the sheriff’s workplace mentioned in a information launch. “The suspect fired a number of instances and the deputy was struck by a number of rounds from the armed suspect.” 

The assault unfolded round 10:30 p.m. Sunday night time when the officer responded to an alarm going off at a Casey’s Common Retailer location in Coggon, north of Cedar Rapids, in response to the Linn County Sheriff’s Workplace.
